Meet Judge DiSalvo

• Born and raised in the City of Youngstown
• A lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley
• Graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School
• Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Youngstown State University
• Earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law
• Accomplished all while working and raising a child on her own

• Over 22 years as a trial attorney working in law firms and owning a private practice
• Over 6 years of experience as a judge
Prior to taking the bench, Judge DiSalvo held the following positions:
• Common Pleas Mediator and Assistant Prosecutor, City of Youngstown
• Adjunct Instructor at both Youngstown State University and Kent State University
Judicial Service:
• Appointed to the bench in November 2018
• Elected in 2019 to serve the term beginning January 1, 2020

• Enlarged and improved the Suspended License Intervention Program (SLIP Court)
• Developed a community outreach initiative “The Steering Clear Clinic”, which helps individuals obtain valid driver’s licenses and connect with local agencies for:
• Record sealing
• Training and education
• Employment and other supportive services
• Created the area’s first Ohio Supreme Court Specialized Docket for Victims of Human Trafficking, called GRACE (Growth Restored through Acceptance, Change, and Empowerment)
• Frequently invited to speak and train on human trafficking issues
• Actively involved with the Ohio Attorney General’s Task Force on Criminal Justice and Mental Health, working on a municipal and county-wide mental health diversion program
